Martin Schmeding is a German church musician, concert organist, and academic teacher born in Minden in 1975. He studied at the Hanover University of Music and Performing Arts and at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam.

Martin Schmeding, born in 1975 in Minden, Westphalia, studied in Hanover, Amsterdam, and Düsseldorf with Ulrich Bremsteller, Lajos Rovatkay, Hans van Nieuwkoop, Jaques van Oortmerssen, and Jean Boyer, among others. He has won prizes in numerous national and international competitions.
In 1999, he was a finalist in the ARD Munich Competition. He has also received numerous other scholarships and grants.
After serving as cantor and organist in Hanover and Düsseldorf (Neanderkirche), he served as Dresden Kreuzorganist from 2002 to 2004, one of Germany's most important church music centers. Following teaching positions in Hanover, Leipzig, Weimar, and Dresden, he was Professor of Organ and Director of the Institute for Church Music at the Freiburg University of Music from 2004 to 2015. Since 2015, he has been Professor of Organ and Artistic Director of the European Organ Academy at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre.
